Occupational Therapist School Setting in San Jose, CA

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support schools in the San Jose area, providing essential services to students at Piedmont Hills School and McCollam Center. This full-time, onsite contract position starts as soon as possible and runs through June 11. You’ll leverage your expertise to make a difference in the lives of children and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and families within an educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California under the Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
- Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in pediatric therapy, specifically with developmental disabilities.
- Experience working in educational settings is essential.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively with teachers, staff, and families to support student success.
- Commitment to providing services onsite, as this position is not open to remote or hybrid work.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in line with district and state requirements.
- Participate in student evaluation meetings and contribute professional insights to help guide educational and therapeutic strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and legal requirements related to pediatric occupational therapy in the school setting.
The position offers a full-time schedule at 37.5 hours per week in a supportive educational atmosphere, where your clinical skills will help transform young lives and empower students to thrive academically and socially.
