The focus will be on an elementary school caseload, giving you the chance to work closely with students and collaborate with teaching staff. You'll play a vital part in helping children develop essential skills needed for classroom success and daily living.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state required
- Previous experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Familiarity with developing and implementing therapy interventions for elementary-aged students
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation and contribute to the IEP process
- Skilled in adapting interventions for a variety of student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with pediatric populations in educational settings preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and set achievable therapy goals
- Design and deliver targeted interventions in both individual and group settings
- Monitor student progress and adjust plans as needed
- Participate in meetings with teachers, administrators, and families
- Complete necessary records and assist with compliance documentation
- Serve as a supportive resource for classroom staff on student accommodations and modifications
