Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential—active and in good standing
- Experience working in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Ability to implement and adapt therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an OT
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Organization and time management skills to manage caseload requirements
- Comfortable working with children of various ages and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver prescribed occupational therapy interventions to students as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Assist in developing and maintaining individualized treatment plans to meet students’ educational and functional needs
- Document student progress and communicate effectively with the educational team
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement strategies in classrooms or other school environments
- Support the development of fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills aligned with each student's needs
