Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and development in an educational setting near Stamford, CT! Two full-time professionals are needed for the upcoming school year, offering the chance to make a genuine difference in young lives. With a 37.5-hour work week, you’ll have structure and consistency while working closely with elementary-aged students as well as students in other settings—more details coming soon.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with experience in school settings
- Proficiency in fine and gross motor skills development
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities when working with educators, families, and other school professionals
- Experience supporting children with various developmental needs, especially at the elementary level
- Adaptability to develop and adjust strategies for diverse student populations
- A passion for fostering student independence and confidence
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ functional abilities and collaborate on creating individualized intervention plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services within the school environment
- Track progress and maintain thorough documentation for compliance and communication with IEP teams
- Provide input for educational plans and participate in parent meetings, contributing OT expertise
- Educate teachers and families on strategies to support skill development in the classroom and at home
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment to ensure every student can thrive
