School Occupational Therapist | Sunnyvale, California
Step into an engaging role as an Occupational Therapist working with a vibrant preschool through 8th grade student community in the Sunnyvale, CA area. This contract position starts August 12, 2026, and will continue for approximately six months, through mid-February 2027. What you’ll bring:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California
- Experience supporting students in a school setting (preschool through middle school preferred)
- Strong understanding of pediatric therapy techniques and best practices for varied age groups
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for teaming with teachers, families, and school staff
- Flexibility and creativity to address diverse student needs
In this role, you’ll:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Assess physical, sensory, and motor skill development
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and monitor student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for accommodations or strategies
- Collaborate with classroom staff to help students fully access educational opportunities
- Maintain documentation and compliance with all state, federal, and school guidelines
